Ipek Abasıkeleş-Turgut was born in December 1984 in Adana. She completed her undergraduate studies in Computer Engineering at Istanbul Technical University (ITU) and graduated with honors in 2007. She completed her Master’s and Ph.D. studies at Çukurova University in 2009 and 2013, respectively.

Between 2012 and 2014, she worked as a Research Assistant and later as an Assistant Professor at Adana Science and Technology University. In 2014, she was appointed as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Engineering at Mustafa Kemal University. Due to the separation of Mustafa Kemal University’s Faculty of Engineering in 2015, which resulted in the establishment of İskenderun Technical University, she continued her academic career at İskenderun Technical University from 2015 onwards. On January 19, 2022, she earned the title of Associate Professor in the field of Computer Sciences.

Her research interests include routing and security in wireless sensor networks, parallel and distributed computing, simulation, and modelling of distributed shared-memory microprocessors.

Ipek Abasıkeleş-Turgut has been married since 2013 and is the parent of one child.
