To enable students to comprehend the basic hardware and software architectures of Wireless Sensor Networks (WSN), their energy-efficiency-oriented protocols, and their integration processes with the IoT (Internet of Things).
Course Content:
WSN architecture, sensor node hardware, medium access control (MAC) protocols, data collection and routing algorithms, network topologies, and sensor network security.

To ensure students learn about current Internet attacks and the precautions to be taken against them, and to understand how security is provided at each layer of TCP/IP.
Course Content:
Network attacks, symmetric and asymmetric key cryptography, message integrity, digital signatures, SSL, IPSec, firewalls, and intrusion detection systems.
